About YAG

Young American Growers is a small farm situated on the great soils and lands of Penns Valley in South Central Pennsylvania, not far from State College and The Pennsylvania State University.

Like many small farms, we diversify our interests and our products to stablize our farm income. Our main focus is the management and operation of our wholesale perennial nursery where we specialize in the propagation and production of Astilbe, a vibrantly flowering shade perennial. In partnership with Creek Hill Nursery of Leola, PA, we also produce epimedium, dicentra, hosta, convallaria, polygonatum and cimicifuga that along with astilbe are wholesaled across the United States and Canda. We also raise Boer and Boer cross goats for  meat sales, 4H projects, breeding stock, pets and brush clearing. We supply goat meat to both family and restaurant clientelle in Centre County. In November/December we make and sell custom Christmas wreaths for a developing customer list including both individual families and fund raising organizations.

We strive to be active participants in the local food movement, to support local businesses and to continue to learn and educate as we move along.
